Battle of the BBQ

18th Annual Boone County Battle of the BBQ

The Battle of the BBQ is the Boone County Cancer Society’s annual fundraiser. All the proceeds that are made at this event go directly back into helping cancer patients in Boone County. The BBQ consists of teams who cook a lot of delicious BBQ then once 5pm rolls around then it is open to the public to taste each teams creation.

​Once you get to the event, there are many other attractions. There is a 50/50 raffle, a golfcart raffle, lots of other goodies to get from different booths, and tons of good food. There is always live music and then awards follow at the end, where we announce the winner of each BBQ category, best fundraiser, best decorated, 50/50 raffle winner, and golfcart raffle winner.

​None of this would be possible if we didn’t have so many amazing community sponsors who continue to support our mission and make this event possible. The community events continue to show how supportive our community is to Boone County Cancer Society. We highly encourage everyone to come out on August 9th to enjoy all of these fun things.
